By now you’re probably wondering what that little twig logo thing is all about.
Well… I wanted to come up with a logo that summed up my philosophy towards photography.
I first picked up a camera to capture the Australian landscape and in particular native trees. As someone who was not born and raised here, the landscape (still some 15yrs later) feels fresh and foreign.
I try and approach things with a sense of authenticity, so the process of obtaining my logo says a lot about my photography process.
I chose to go outside and hunt for what I could see as having ‘logo potential’. After a few hours of scouting various branches I finally settled on this one pictured here, I brought it home and set about to turn it from photo to icon.
Where possible I try to capture what is real. It is why I love documentary, reportage or journalistic styled photography because it is raw and authentic. It reminds me of pictures my father took of me, my sister and brother with his film cameras. Every time I see my little twig logo I am reminded of the extra effort I went through to make it happen.
