Glen Davis, The Return

Early June ‘21 saw a return visit to the ruined site of Glen Davis old shale mining facility. Organised by the wonderful Mick Tait Photography, I was fortunate enough to be invited (once again) to one of his fabulous ‘cosplay’ weekends, an opportunity to shoot some interesting people in interesting outfits. The ‘Wastelanders’ or ‘Mad Max’ theme is very appropriate for this location and it was great fun to drink, be merry and partake in this well deserved break (after all the Covid lockdown stress and repeat cancellations we had to endure).

Although the event lasted the weekend I did have to cut it short, leaving Saturday arvo, staying for only around 24hrs. I decided this event was a good example of a ‘workflow study’, thus I have provided a video explaining my own approach when it comes to these kind of projects.

If you don’t have the time to watch the video (or care) then perhaps just enjoy the following images, a bit of a mishmash of landscape and portrait work within 24hrs.
